I used to walk this beach path almost daily with my labrador retriever and later through the years with my Australian Shepherd. Stage Harbor Light, (aka Harding's beach Light, and actually has no light and is missing the top!) is surrounded by a sandy spit with an inlet and large pond (Oyster pond in Chatham); the rain, tides and wind can create lovely sand ripples that catch the light in a beautiful way - just a perfect setup for a painting.This is a favorite image among many locals as well as tourists, and the original won a number of awards.
