This was my view out my back door for a period. I absolutely loved how the sunlight would blanket these horses nearly every day when they'd come hang out at the fence. I knew I would attempt a painting... The nearly-abstract view as the two get lost in the glare and shadows made such a cool visual for me, especially when combined with the late afternoon colors - it creates an unusual and (to me), endearing scene. Additionally, for anyone that knows horses, when their ears lay flat out like the one on the right, it means they are totally relaxed. Another reason that to me it is just a "feel-good" painting.
